Professional bull riding is coming back to Grande Prairie, Alberta, for the seventh time on September 26, 2026. The PBR Peace Country Invitational will bring Canada’s top bull riders to the Bonnetts Energy Centre Arena, promising an evening of high-energy rodeo action for local fans.
The event is the eighth event on PBR Canada’s elite Cup Series in 2026, and it gives Grande Prairie residents a chance to watch professional rodeo sports without travelling to a larger centre. Riders will go head-to-head with 1,800-pound bucking bulls while competing for national points toward the Canadian Championship.
Tickets start at $38 and are on sale now through the venue website. Reserved seating ranges from $54.25 to $114.50. The competition runs from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
Last year’s event ended in a tie between Saskatchewan cowboys Dakota Buttar and Jared Parsonage, both of whom earned more than 110 national points. The 2026 invitational continues a tradition that began in 2020, with previous winners including Cody Coverchuk, Aaron Roy, and Jake Gardner.
The Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association is promoting the event as a featured fall attraction, highlighting its role in drawing visitors to Northwestern Alberta as summer events wind down. The non-profit organization works with Travel Alberta to market the region, and its focus on live entertainment aims to boost local business revenue during the shoulder season.
