The Town of Ajax, Ontario, continues to provide an emergency overnight warming space in the Council Chambers Lobby at Town Hall. The facility provides a safe and climate-controlled environment for residents to stay warm during the night and will remain available to the community until 7 a.m. on April 1, 2026.

The warming space is located at 65 Harwood Ave. S. and can be reached through the Council Chambers entrance. The service is part of the Town’s winter response strategy to support vulnerable residents during the coldest months.

On weekdays, the doors are open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The facility stays open longer on weekends, with hours running from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

This initiative helps vulnerable people, including those experiencing homelessness, find relief during the final weeks of winter. While the town manages the Town Hall space, the Region of Durham handles broader housing supports and issues extreme cold weather alerts for the area.
