The Town of Ajax, Ontario, is hosting its annual Winterfest on Family Day, Monday, February 16, 2026, featuring a full day of free activities. The event will take place at the Audley Recreation Centre and the adjacent Ajax Fairgrounds from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to provide local families with no-cost winter entertainment.
Residents can enjoy activities like ball hockey, making s’mores, and exploring a marketplace with local vendors. The TD Bank Group is partnering with the town to sponsor the festival, which also includes free public swimming. Swimming sessions are available in two blocks, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Because the event is popular, officials say parking at the recreation centre will be very limited. To make travel easier, the town is providing a free shuttle service that will run between the festival and several local spots. Pick-up locations for the shuttle include Ajax Town Hall, the McLean Community Centre, and the Ajax GO Station.
The festival has expanded recently to use the large fairgrounds space, allowing for more outdoor games and larger crowds. Winterfest has been a community tradition in the area for more than 20 years and is designed to remove financial barriers for families looking for holiday activities.
