People planning to attend the 2026 Manitoba Sunflower Festival in Altona, Manitoba, can now purchase tickets at a lower price through a special early-bird sale. The discounted rates are available until February 28, 2026, giving residents and visitors several weeks to plan for the event, which runs July 24–26, 2026.

This year marks the festival’s 62nd year, which often sees the town’s population double as people gather for the parade, midway rides, and food booths. Tickets can be purchased through the festival website or by visiting the Town of Altona recreation office.

Brittany Winkler, the local Recreation Programmer, is managing ticket inquiries as the community prepares for traditional highlights like the quilt show and the Queen Quest pageant. This pageant is a long-standing tradition where the winner travels to Altona’s sister city, Emerald, Queensland, Australia, to represent the community.

The festival is a major event for local groups and businesses that run Mennonite food booths and craft markets at Altona Centennial Park and the Millennium Exhibition Centre. Organizers launched ticket sales roughly six months ahead of the July event to help families and large groups save money while securing their spots for the town’s biggest weekend of the year.

Residents can contact the town office to confirm which specific events are included in the early-bird offer; historically, the Mainstage headliner, the Queen Quest coronation and Midway/rides have required separate tickets. These discounted passes are intended to make the town’s signature summer celebration more affordable for everyone in the region.
