On February 9, 2026, the non-profit organization Home Routes / Chemin Chez Nous will bring its house-concert series to a local home in Altona, Manitoba. The performance is one stop on a Home Routes regional circuit that is part of the organization’s national network of house-concert tours, designed to bring professional folk, roots and traditional musicians into intimate living-room and community settings rather than large commercial theatres.
The house-concert model is structured as an intimate, RSVP-based private event where 100% of the suggested donation collected at the door is passed to the performer. The evening typically includes two 45-minute sets of music with an intermission for socializing, giving neighbours a chance to chat with the artist and each other.
Organizers are currently finalizing local volunteer support and seeking additional households in the area to host performances so Altona remains on the regular circuit schedule. Hosts typically provide a space for the concert, one meal and a bed for the touring musician, and receive two free tickets in return.
Because concerts take place in private residences, the exact address is shared only with attendees after they reserve their spot. Most shows accommodate roughly 30 to 50 people. Attendees are asked to provide a suggested donation at the door.
Altona has been a recurring stop on Home Routes circuits for more than a decade, according to local coverage and Home Routes’ tour archives. For the upcoming February 9 concert, doors are expected to open at 7:00 p.m., with music beginning at 7:30 p.m., which aligns with the typical start times used across Home Routes events.
