École Elmwood School in Altona, Manitoba, has released its March 2026 updates, highlighting new kindergarten registration for the fall and important safety changes for the school driveway. Families with children born in 2021 can now register for kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year. Principal Scott Hiebert is asking parents to use the online registration links to sign up their children for the upcoming term.

The school is also reminding drivers about specific rules for the North Driveway to keep students safe during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Drivers must turn right when exiting the driveway and are asked not to park or unload in the middle lane or near the entrance pylons. For those who need more time, the school recommends parking on Westwood Crescent, which is only a short walk away.

Several important dates are coming up this month, starting with a teacher training day on March 2, 2026, meaning there is no school for students today. A book fair will be held from March 3 to March 5, 2026, followed by student conferences on the evening of March 19 and all day on March 20, 2026. There will be no school for students on March 20, 2026, while these meetings take place.

The Town of Altona and the Border Land School Division also noted that Spring Break is approaching soon. Students will be on holiday from March 30, 2026, through April 3, 2026. These updates are intended to help local families plan their childcare and daily routines for the month ahead.
