The Amherst Ramblers defeated the Summerside Western Capitals 5–0 on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Amherst Stadium in Amherst, Nova Scotia, a result that tightens the race for playoff seeding.

Head coach Ryan Salvis’s squad produced a disciplined defensive performance that held one of the league’s highest-scoring teams scoreless. The Ramblers emphasized shot blocking and clearing the crease and combined strong team defence with effective goaltending to preserve the shutout.

The game drew a large local crowd — Amherst Stadium is often called “The Jungle” — and was the latest matchup in the Strait Rivalry Series. The win moves Amherst closer to a top spot in the MHL standings as they continue a strong second-half run.
