The Amherst Lions Club is hosting its annual Sportsman Show on April 18, 2026, at the Lions Hall on Electric Street in Amherst, Nova Scotia. Running from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the event invites residents to browse, buy, and trade a wide variety of outdoor sporting equipment.

Attendees will find vendors showcasing gear for hunting and fishing, including rifles, shotguns, and crossbows. For those interested in using crossbows, the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables reminds hunters that mandatory education and certification are required to use this equipment legally in the province.

Admission to the show is $5 for adults, while children under 12 can enter for free. The event provides a space for outdoor enthusiasts to connect in a region known for its hunting culture, particularly in Cumberland County, which often sees significant activity regarding local wildlife populations.

The Amherst Lions Club, a local chapter of Lions Clubs International, has served the community since 1954. Beyond hosting community events at the hall, the organization is well-known for its contributions to local infrastructure and youth programs, including supporting minor sports leagues and local parks.
