Classic Fire + Life Safety has opened its first Atlantic Canada branch in Amherst, Nova Scotia, to provide fire protection services directly to local businesses and multi-residential property managers. The new office is now operational and will serve as a regional hub for both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, offering services like fire alarm monitoring and sprinkler system installations.

The company expects to create between 10 and 15 new jobs by the end of 2026 as the branch reaches full staffing. This new location allows schools, hospitals, and contractors in the area to get safety inspections and repairs done by local workers rather than waiting for crews to travel from outside the region.

Branch leader Ryan Rees, a second-generation fire safety professional originally from Tatamagouche, N.S., will manage the Amherst office. According to Mike Farren, the chief executive officer of the company, the expansion completes their national footprint while focusing on local dedication.

The Town of Amherst was chosen because of its location near the New Brunswick border and the Trans-Canada Highway. This move follows recent efforts by local officials to revitalize the “Busy Amherst” industrial legacy and bring more service-based businesses back to the community.
