The Amherst Little League has officially opened player registration for the 2026 baseball season in Amherst, Nova Scotia. This program continues a tradition started in 1955 of providing free baseball to local youth between the ages of 4 and 15.

Games and practices take place at the three-field complex on Croft Street. The facility features a special T-ball field designed for accessibility, which was made possible by a $70,000 grant from the Jays Care Foundation.

The league is currently looking for volunteers to serve as coaches, umpires, and scorekeepers for the upcoming summer. Training is provided for these roles, though all volunteers are required to complete a formal record check before they can participate.

Parents with children in the Major or A divisions will now be responsible for scorekeeping during home games. A manager will be assigned to help organize the schedule for these parent volunteers throughout the season.

Organizers are also asking visitors to be mindful of parking near the fields to ensure spaces remain open for homeowners and emergency services. Drivers should avoid parking on Beacon Street or using the Amherst Fire Department parking lot.
