On February 17, 2026, Mount Allison University, located in Sackville, NB, announced it has formed a new team to manage the school’s five-year strategic plan, which will impact services and community partnerships for residents in nearby Amherst, Nova Scotia. This group is responsible for putting the university’s long-term goals into action, focusing on campus life, community engagement, and digital transformation.
The 18-member Strategic Plan Implementation Group (SPIG) is chaired by Courtney Pringle-Carver, who serves as the university’s chief strategy officer and vice-president, university advancement. The team includes a mix of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who will oversee projects that shape academic programs and strengthen the university’s commitment to the local Tantramar region.
Known as Broad Minds. Bold Futures. Lifelong Connections., the plan was first introduced on January 19, 2026. It focuses on four main areas: student success; community and well-being; future-focused liberal arts and sciences; and modernizing campus operations.
To ensure these projects stay on track, the university will conduct formal reviews of its progress. These check-ins are set to happen after 18 months, three years, and five years to evaluate how well the new goals are being met.
