Amherst’s Town Hall at 98 Victoria Street East will close from 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 2025, until 8:30 a.m. on January 5, 2026. During that time, residents won’t be able to process payments, apply for permits or meet with council staff.
The Amherst Stadium will run on a modified holiday schedule to host Amherst Junior A Ramblers games and community skating sessions. Details on tickets and skate times are available through the Amherst Stadium holiday hours.
A winter parking ban is already in effect from November 15 to April 15 between midnight and 7 a.m. Vehicles left on town streets during those hours risk tickets or towing to allow snow removal.
Emergency services will remain fully operational throughout the holidays. For non-life-threatening police or fire matters, residents and local businesses can call the 24-hour non-emergency dispatch line at 902-667-8600. Regular municipal services resume on January 5, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
