Arnprior residents can take part in a 50/50 draw and free community skating at the Nick Smith Centre throughout January 2026, Crime Stoppers Month in Arnprior organized by Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers. The announcement was made in a December 16, 2025 news release from Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers.
The month-long 50/50 raffle offers prizes based on ticket sales, with tickets available online at the Crime Stoppers website (valleytips.ca). Free-skating sessions will be held throughout January 2026 at the Nick Smith Centre; volunteers will be on hand at sessions to explain how the program works and to provide information about submitting anonymous tips.
Proceeds from the raffle help fund rewards of up to $2,000 for tips that lead to arrests in Renfrew County. Since its founding, the local Crime Stoppers branch has helped lay 1,272 charges and recovered $696,489 in property through anonymous public tips.
The initiative, led by Crime Stoppers President Bennett Blackwell and supported by the Town of Arnprior and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), aims to boost community involvement in public safety. Residents interested in volunteering or learning how to submit tips without revealing their identity can visit the Crime Stoppers website (valleytips.ca) or speak with volunteers at the skating events.
