The Town of Arnprior has confirmed that residential garbage and recycling collection will occur as usual on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31, 2025, with no changes to the regular Wednesday pickup schedule. This notice, published in mid-December, ensures households and local businesses can plan their holiday waste and recycling without worrying about service shifts.

Residents must place garbage and recycling containers at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on collection days, with items set out after 7:00 p.m. the evening before (note that downtown properties have a 9:30 a.m. curbside deadline on collection days). The alternating recycling schedule (Paper/Fibre week vs. Containers week) remains in effect. Details are available in the town’s 2025 collection schedule: https://www.arnprior.ca/2025-Garbage-and-Recycling-Collection-Schedule.pdf.

The Arnprior Landfill will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025. The landfill is normally open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; it is closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and statutory holidays, so residents should check the landfill hours before visiting. Residents can use their 2025 landfill voucher for large items through December 31, 2025. For hours and regulations, see: https://www.arnprior.ca/en/living-here/landfill.aspx.

Households are reminded to follow the two-bag limit for curbside garbage (maximum container size approximately 67 L and maximum weight 50 lb per bag/container); excess waste requires a $3.00 bag tag per additional bag. Recycling must be loose or in approved bins—plastic bags are not accepted. During winter, avoid placing bags behind, on top of, or inside snowbanks to keep collection crews safe. More guidelines are outlined in the town’s waste management guide: https://www.arnprior.ca/en/living-here/garbage.aspx.
