The Town of Aurora, Ontario, is set to begin a series of road improvements starting in late April 2026 as part of a $18.4 million investment in local infrastructure. This project, which runs through October 2026, aims to rehabilitate several residential roads and perform development servicing to maintain the quality of the town’s transportation network.
Construction work will take place on John West Way, Mill Street, Temperance Street, Sisman Avenue, Hollidge Boulevard, Wells Street North, Cousins Drive, Dunning Avenue, Brookland Avenue, and George Street development servicing. During this time, residents can expect crews to be on-site on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The town has stated that while lane restrictions will be in place, the roads will remain open to through traffic and access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
These road improvements are funded through the town’s 2026 Capital Budget, which was adopted by the council on December 7, 2025. The budget includes $67.8 million for various capital projects across the community. This year’s budget includes a 2.2 per cent tax-levy increase, which is estimated to cost the owner of an average home assessed at $800,000 approximately $56.94 annually.
