The Aurora Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Member Summer Barbecue and Annual General Meeting this August 2026 in Aurora, Ontario. This event combines official business with a chance for local business owners to connect before the busy fall season.
During the formal meeting, members will review the annual report and vote on important leadership matters. The current Board Chair, David Olesen, who is a business and commercial lawyer, will oversee the proceedings alongside other board members.
The organization currently focuses on several goals, including keeping workers in the local area and providing training for middle management. Executive Director Alison Mumford leads the group’s strategic efforts, though the board and staff are currently managing operations while she is on leave.
Last year, the event was held on August 27, 2025, where Mayor Tom Mrakas officially brought in the current leadership team. This year’s gathering continues the tradition of sharing achievements and looking at future plans for the more than 575 businesses represented by the group.
After the business portion is finished, the meeting will turn into an informal barbecue. This session is designed to help local professionals meet one another and discuss community needs in a relaxed setting.
