On Saturday, January 31, 2026, residents and local musicians will gather at Aurora Town Square in Aurora, Ontario, for a charity concert to raise money for prostate cancer research. The evening, organized by a grassroots committee of local survivors and volunteers, aims to raise over $25,000 to help patients and improve local healthcare services.

The event will feature a live performance by Juno-nominated songwriter Glenn Marais with The Mojo Train and a silent auction hosted on the Auctria website. Funds raised will benefit Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada, with a portion of proceeds earmarked for the Southlake Foundation to support local prostate diagnostic equipment (including the new PSMA PET imaging service at Southlake Regional Health Centre).

According to organizer Ray Visser of Prostate Cancer Support Newmarket, the money will help ensure local men can get specialized medical scans closer to home. This effort supports the recent launch of the PSMA PET imaging service at Southlake Regional Health Centre, which previously required some patients to travel to downtown Toronto for care.

The concert will be held in Brevik Hall at Aurora Town Square, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the fundraiser are priced between $45 and $60. A local anonymous donor has offered a matching gift challenge for funds raised during the night.
