The Aurora Community Arboretum is hosting its annual general meeting today, April 11, 2026, at the Aurora Seniors Centre, located at 90 John West Way. Doors for the event open at 10:00 AM, with the meeting officially starting at 10:15 AM.
The volunteer-driven, non-profit organization manages over 100 acres of parkland along the East Holland River valley. During the meeting, attendees will receive updates on ongoing tree-planting initiatives and hear about upcoming environmental projects for the community space.
As part of the meeting, the group will feature a presentation from guest speaker Kristen Martyn. Martyn is a naturalist and birder who holds a degree in zoology and operates two nature-focused retail stores.
In addition to discussing environmental efforts, the organization is collecting non-perishable food donations to support the Aurora Food Pantry. The pantry has been serving the local community since 1990 and provided assistance to over 15,000 individuals in 2025.
While members of the organization are eligible to vote on board matters, the public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about local conservation. Those planning to join are asked to register by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “AGM April 11” and include the number of people attending.
