Aurora’s volunteer musicians will take the stage at the Davide De Simone Performance Hall on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 3 p.m. when the Aurora Community Band presents “A Gallery in Sound: Music Inspired by Art.” The concert at Aurora Town Square, 50 Victoria Street, pairs visual and musical works to showcase local talent in a professional setting.

The program features selections from Disney’s Fantasia 2000, Norman Dello Joio’s Scenes from ‘The Louvre,’ Postcards from Manhattan, and selections from Moulin Rouge. Under the direction of Dr. Gord Shephard, the all-ages, 50-member ensemble aims to bring a multi-sensory experience to audiences and arts educators alike.

The performance hall, part of the Aurora Town Square complex — which includes a 29,000‑square‑foot outdoor plaza and a roughly 32,000‑square‑foot cultural facility — officially opened in late 2024 (grand opening Sept. 21, 2024) after more than $50 million in cultural redevelopment. The hall is named for local developer Davide De Simone, whose company donated $600,000 toward the Town Square project. The venue links the Aurora Public Library with the Aurora Museum & Cultural Centre and serves as a hub for community arts.

Founded in 2011, the Aurora Community Band has grown into a cornerstone of the town’s amateur-music sector and is seen as a next step for students graduating from local school music programs. Tickets are available through the Aurora Town Square box office.
