Thousands of people visited the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex this past weekend for the annual Aurora Home and Active Living Show. Held on April 11 and April 12, 2026, the two-day event brought together residents and local businesses to showcase the latest in home renovations, property improvements, and lifestyle services.
Organized by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the event featured over 100 vendors. The exhibition provided a space for contractors, designers, and local service providers to connect with community members looking for advice or assistance with their home projects.
The show, which takes place at the facility located at 1400 Wellington Street East, is recognized as the longest-running event of its kind in York Region. Since its inception in 1987, the show has maintained a consistent presence in the community, with long-standing participants such as the Town of Aurora, Aurora Overhead Door, and Summers and Smith returning to exhibit.
Admission to the event was free for all visitors, thanks to support from community sponsors. Attendees had the opportunity to browse a wide variety of displays and participate in prize draws, including a $500 cash giveaway. According to the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the show continues to serve as an important venue for building connections between local businesses and the residents they serve.
The Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, which hosted the gathering, is a central hub for the community featuring ice rinks, swimming pools, and a gymnasium. The Chamber of Commerce, which is celebrating 45 years of supporting local businesses, continues to coordinate the show annually to support local economic development.
