Aurora Public Library is rolling out a fall season packed with cultural celebrations, from a new Arab Voices conversation series to the Harvest Moon Festival and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation programming.
The Fall 2026 program guide, titled “Celebrate Culture, Community & Connection!” runs September through October 2026 and invites residents to discover the stories, traditions, and voices that make Aurora unique through performances, music, films, and special events.
Culture Days returns September 18 to October 4, 2026, with the Town of Aurora teaming up with local cultural organizations. The National Day for Truth & Reconciliation ceremony is set for September 30 at Mirkopoulos Plateia in Aurora Town Square, with programming developed in partnership with the Town of Aurora and members of the Indigenous community.
The new “Cultures in Conversation: Arab Voices” series and Women’s History Month events round out October’s offerings, joining longstanding partnerships with Huayun Aurora Multi-Cultural Association, Catholic Community Services of York Region, Women’s Centre of York Region, PFLAG York Region, and the Canadian Mental Health Association for youth-focused groups.
The cultural push reflects the library’s strategic plan, Radiating Possibilities, which draws on input from more than 2,700 community voices. The town’s 2026 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Calendar also recognizes Culture Days, Black History Month, Indigenous History Month, the Multicultural Festival, and the Menorah Lighting Ceremony.
