The Town of Banff, Alberta, is moving forward with the 90-unit Wolf Street Housing project to provide more stable places for residents and local workers to live. This development is a primary part of the town’s effort to address a housing shortage estimated to be between 700 and 1,000 homes.
By the end of March 2026, workers will finish connecting the building to water, gas, electricity, and sewer lines. These utility connections are a key step in getting the new homes ready for the community.
The project is supported by $4.66 million in federal funding from the Housing Accelerator Fund, which was provided in 2024. This money helps the town reach its target of building at least 240 new homes by 2027.
In addition to the apartments, the building will include an 8,000-square-foot community space. This area is being funded by the Pauw Foundation to provide a place for residents to gather.
