Third Coast Percussion will play Time Pieces: The New Classical at the Margaret Greenham Theatre on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity has listed — a one-night presentation that brings the GRAMMY®‑winning Chicago quartet to Banff as part of the group’s 20th‑anniversary season and the Centre’s winter lineup.

Third Coast Percussion — Sean Connors, Robert Dillon, Peter Martin and David Skidmore — are in residence at Banff from January 9–18, 2026 and will serve as faculty for Banff Musicians in Residence during that week, the group’s season materials note. The Jan. 16 public concert is a highlight of that stay and tickets are on sale through Banff Centre’s box office with assigned seating priced at $75.

The program, billed as a survey of contemporary and modern works, mixes TCP commissions and classics of new music, including pieces by Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Jessie Montgomery, Jlin and others, plus original works by the quartet, according to Banff and season press materials. Promotional copy on the event page also cites praise from outlets including NPR and The New York Times for the ensemble’s adventurous programming and ensemble work.

The show takes place in the Margaret Greenham Theatre, a 246‑seat studio venue on the Banff campus, which makes the concert relatively intimate compared with larger touring halls. That smaller capacity means seating is limited; audiences are advised to book early through the Banff Centre box office.

Banff Centre’s winter season announcement, published November 19, 2025, lists the concert among a slate of music, circus, comedy and fashion events aimed at both local audiences and visitors during the busy winter season. The appearance also plugs into Third Coast Percussion’s wider 20th‑anniversary tour, which includes residencies and concerts across North America and Europe.

Local arts‑goers who want to attend should buy tickets through Banff Centre’s event page and check the box office for availability, assigned seating maps, and current accessibility or health advisories. Media or community groups seeking more information or interviews can contact Banff Centre communications; Carly Maga is listed as the Centre’s media contact in the season announcement.

The concert is an opportunity for Banff residents to see a major contemporary ensemble in a small campus theatre and is linked to the quartet’s residency that includes faculty activities for Banff Musicians in Residence, which could provide educational benefits to local music students and audiences beyond the single evening.
