The annual Banff Cup Men’s Adult Hockey Tournament concluded on March 29, 2026, marking the end of several days of competition held across the Bow Valley. The event brought teams from across the continent to compete in various skill and age divisions at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre and the Canmore Recreation Centre.
Organized by Canadian Hockey Enterprises, which has been hosting hockey events for over 39 years, the tournament provided each participating team with a three-game guarantee. Players competed in divisions ranging from Novice to A-level, including intermediate levels B, C, and D, with age groups spanning from 19+ to 45+.
The event offered participants an all-inclusive experience, featuring accommodations at local hotels and social events, including a dinner and drinks gathering at Melissa’s Missteak. Divisional champions were awarded the Banff Cup trophy and championship hats, while finalists received commemorative skate towels and players were recognized with game awards.
The tournament utilized both arenas at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre, which includes an NHL-sized rink with seating for 90 spectators and a full-sized arena that can accommodate 500 people. By drawing visitors to the region, the event continues to support the local economy, which relies heavily on tourism as its primary driver.
Additional hockey tournaments are slated to continue in the region throughout April 2026 as part of the ongoing event series hosted by organizers.
