The non-profit organization Adaptive Adventures is expanding its winter sports options in Banff, Alberta, to help more people with physical disabilities get outside this season. Starting February 17, 2026, the group is offering new day lessons, technical clinics, and multi-day camps for skiing and snowboarding. These updates are meant to make it easier for local residents and visitors with mobility needs to enjoy the mountains.

The organization operates as a mobile program, traveling with trailers full of specialized equipment to reach different communities. This approach allows them to provide gear and trained instructors to areas that might not have permanent accessible tools. Their updated events calendar for 2026 includes several sessions specifically for the Banff area.

This expansion comes as local ski areas grow, including the opening of new terrain like Richardson’s Ridge at Lake Louise. The new adaptive programs also follow the annual SnowDays festival, which ran through early February. These activities give families and individuals more practical ways to participate in outdoor recreation throughout the rest of the winter months.
