The Town of Banff is hosting a family-focused “Banff Community New Years Eve Celebrations” on December 31, 2025, with daytime and early-evening programming roughly 1:00–8:00 p.m. at Sundance Park (the Okâch – Îyethkabi Oûgitûbi pavilion) and Central Park, giving residents and visitors a place to celebrate earlier in the night and plan travel accordingly, the town’s official event pages show.
Programming starts with complimentary hot chocolate and a family skate at the Sundance Park pavilion from 1:00–3:00 p.m., then moves to Central Park for drop-in activities and live music from about 4:00–8:00 p.m. The town’s page highlights skating, kick sledding, broomball, a Little Toot Train and scheduled stage performances by groups including Blackfoot Medicine Speaks, Arik Pipestem (hoop dancer), JG n’ the District, Beau Valley Circus and Miesha and the Spanks.
The town is explicit about one point that matters to residents and pet owners: “Please note: There will be no fireworks or pyrotechnics,” the event page states. That marks a change from some previous years when local coverage noted low-noise, low-altitude pyrotechnics as part of midnight festivities, a detail reported in the Bow Valley Crag & Canyon.
Logistics are spelled out on the municipal pages. Attendees are urged to walk, cycle or use Roam Public Transit to get to Central Park; the town suggests parking at the Train Station free nine-hour lot, the upper levels of the Bear Street parkade or pay downtown lots if driving is necessary.
The event is presented as family-friendly programming intended to give people of all ages a safe, early-evening way to ring in the New Year.
