The annual Hot Cocoa Trail in Barrie, Ontario, is entering its final weekend as the event concludes on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Organized by the Downtown Barrie BIA, the month-long program has encouraged residents to support local businesses during the cold winter weeks.
Nearly 30 shops and restaurants in the downtown area have participated in this year’s trail since it launched on February 7, 2026. The launch coincided with the start of Barrie Winterfest to help attract more people to the city streets.
Residents can still visit local spots to try unique drinks like the Mayan Hot Cocoa at B’spoke Kitchen & Market or the Coconut Cream Pie Hot Cocoa at The Barrie Bean Counter. These special menu items are designed to increase foot traffic and sales for downtown business owners.
This weekend is also the last chance for people to enter the Scan and Win contest by using a QR code with their purchase. Five winners will be selected to receive gift card packages worth $50 that can be spent at various downtown businesses.
