Amalgamated Academy in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador, celebrated Pink Shirt Day on February 25, 2026, to promote kindness and stop bullying. This national event encourages students and staff to wear pink as a visible way to support a safer school environment.

The school, which serves students in grades 4 through 9, focused on this year’s national theme of “Sprinkle Kindness.” This theme highlights how small, positive actions can help prevent bullying and cyberbullying among youth.

This event was one of several community activities held at the school throughout February. Other highlights on the school calendar included Education Week from February 9 to February 13, 2026, and Janeway Day on February 13.

According to NL Schools, participating in these days helps support provincial efforts to keep learning spaces safe and caring. The school joined others across the country to reinforce a culture of respect and accountability.

The Pink Shirt Day movement began in Canada in 2007 to raise awareness about the impact of bullying. Parents and neighbors in Bay Roberts were also encouraged to participate by wearing pink shirts to support the school’s message.
