The 28th annual Festival of Lights runs from November 19, 2025, to January 6, 2026, illuminating parks and community venues across Bay Roberts. The holiday event draws visitors to local shops and restaurants, boosting sales during the usual off-season.

The town’s official festival page lists two light parks open nightly: the Intelligent Light Park stretching from the Fire Hall to Ascension Collegiate with synchronized music and displays, and a strolling park at the Wilbur Sparkes Complex.

Free family skating sessions take place at the Bay Arena on weekends and select weekdays during the school break. Skaters can find the schedule on the Bay Arena skating schedule page and may register via Bay Roberts Recreation’s usual channels (such as the town’s Recreation Facebook page) or by contacting Town Hall or the Bay Arena.

The Christmas Chalet near the Fire Hall hosts craft workshops, community gatherings and photos with Santa on select dates. The festival wraps up with a final community walk on Old Christmas Day, January 6, 2026.

The Conception Bay Area Chamber of Commerce says the festival is a tentpole event for local merchants along the Baccalieu Trail, which local business owners say brings higher foot traffic on nightly light tours.
