The provincial Government Service Centre and Motor Registration Office in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador, will delay its opening until 11:00 a.m. on February 19, 2026, due to winter weather.

The office, which is located at 25 Bareneed Road, normally opens its doors at 8:30 a.m. Residents who need to renew their driver licenses or register a vehicle are being asked to wait until later in the morning to visit the building.

According to Digital Government and Service NL, people should consider using the province’s online tools for their government paperwork to avoid travelling in the storm. This helps reduce the number of people on the roads while conditions are poor.

This office has served as the main service spot for the Conception Bay North area since the provincial government moved operations from Harbour Grace in May 2024. The later start time gives snow plows more time to clear the Veterans Memorial Highway and other local roads so both staff and residents can arrive safely.
