On February 18, 2026, students at Ascension Collegiate in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador, will take part in a regional career and education fair. The event will bring together approximately 500 students with local businesses and post-secondary institutions to help them explore different types of work and plan future training.
The fair will feature hands-on “Try-a-Trade” demonstrations and information booths highlighting high-demand areas such as healthcare, technology and the skilled trades. The format gives students a chance to speak one-on-one with industry and education representatives before they select courses for the 2026–27 school year.
Representatives from local employers, such as Atlantic Grocery Distributors (AGD) and Powell’s Supermarket, are expected to be on hand to discuss local hiring and career pathways. The fair aligns with provincial priorities to improve youth access to labour-market information, as set out in the Newfoundland and Labrador 2025–26 labour market plan.
The event also helps students prepare ahead of provincial competitions and showcases organized by Skills Canada NL; the Skills Canada NL Provincial Competition is scheduled for March 20, 2026, making the February fair a timely opportunity for recruitment and awareness in the Conception Bay North region.
