Families in Beaumont, Alberta, can now sign up their children for the Beaumont Songbirds Choirs’ Spring 2026 semester, with some rehearsals beginning in early February 2026. The community group offers weekly rehearsals for children, youth, and adults to teach singing and prepare for local performances.

Rehearsals are held at the Beaumont Community Church (5423 55 St., Beaumont, AB), but not all groups meet on the same evening. Tiny Tweets (kindergarten–Grade 2) and Chickadees (Grades 3–7) rehearse on Mondays (Tiny Tweets: 4:45–5:30 p.m.; Chickadees: 5:40–7:00 p.m., starting Feb. 2, 2026). Sparrows (Grade 7–12) and Songbirds (adults) rehearse on Tuesdays (Songbirds/Sparrows: 6:00–8:00 p.m., starting Feb. 3, 2026). The Owls (50+) meet midday on Wednesdays (starting Feb. 11) and Tiny Tunes & Tales (babies–5 years) meet on Fridays (starting Feb. 13). Exact times and the full calendar are available on the choir’s website.

The upcoming term includes several events, including a spring concert and an intergenerational “mini concert” for Beaumont seniors. Singers will also have the opportunity to participate in the Leduc Music Festival (a regional competitive festival), where they can receive professional adjudication.

The choir is divided into age-based groups — Tiny Tweets (young children), Chickadees (elementary), Sparrows (youth), Songbirds (adults) — and also offers the Owls (seniors) and Tiny Tunes & Tales classes. Registration is handled online through the official choir website, which lists detailed rehearsal times, fees, and start dates.

Artistic Director Laura Talbert has emphasized the choir’s intergenerational role when performing for local care homes. As she told La Nouvelle Beaumont News, “Many seniors live on pensions and fixed incomes… this evening raises funds for their sheet music, space rental, and performance costs so that this program is never a financial burden to any of them.”
