The Beaumont City Council is gathering at the Beaumont Community Centre in Beaumont, Alberta, on March 10, 2026, to update the city budget and set rules for using artificial intelligence. The public session begins at 6:00 PM and will focus on making financial adjustments to the 2026 budget and reviewing how the city handles new technology in its daily operations.
Following the public portion of the meeting, council members will hold a private discussion regarding the Innovation Park. This project is a major business development planned for the area south of Highway 625 and is intended to serve as a campus for transportation and technology companies.
Former Mayor Bill Daneluik, who championed the project during his term, previously identified the park as a key initiative to help grow the local economy. Under the current leadership of Mayor Lisa Vanderkwaak, the city is continuing to work with the Alberta Motor Transport Association to turn the southeast corner of the community into a commercial hub for industrial businesses.
The private talk about the park is being held behind closed doors to protect sensitive details regarding business negotiations, as authorized under Alberta’s Access to Information Act. Residents who wish to follow the public meeting can attend in person or watch the live broadcast on the city’s YouTube channel.
