The Bibliothèque de Beaumont Library in Beaumont, Alberta, released its 2025 annual report on February 13, 2026, showing that residents borrowed nearly 159,000 items throughout the year. The report highlights how the community used the facility during a year of major construction and updates to local services. Residents can use the information to see which programs and collections were the most popular over the last 12 months.
The library completed a major interior renovation and installed new furniture in June 2025. These improvements created new spaces for children and students to study and gather. The project was supported by a $12,000 donation for a multi-use program room from Mayor Bill’s 2025 Charity Golf Tournament Fund, which can be found through the city library website.
Based on how and when residents used the building in 2025, the library started new opening hours in January 2026. These changes were made to better manage staff and resources during peak visiting times. To help cover operating costs, the library also received a $116,722.00 grant from the provincial Public Library Services Branch.
Community events faced some changes in 2025, including the Chapter One Young Writers Contest, which was moved to February 2026 because of a teacher’s strike. The library continues to track these numbers to help plan for future services and building space as the local population grows.
