Crews with the City of Beaumont in Alberta are moving through residential neighbourhoods this week (active clearing scheduled for the week of Jan. 26–30, 2026) to clear snow from local streets and cul-de-sacs. This P4 phase of work follows the completed clearing of Priority 1–3 routes (emergency routes, major roads and collector/bus routes) earlier in the month.

Residents are asked to watch for yellow temporary signs that indicate when a parking ban is in effect for their specific street. The City posts temporary parking-ban signs 48 hours before clearing begins; bans typically start at midnight on the date shown on the sign to allow heavy equipment — such as graders and loaders — to clear the full roadway (curb to curb where applicable).

To help the process go faster, the city suggests moving vehicles onto driveways or nearby streets that have already been cleared. Vehicles left on the road during a scheduled parking ban risk enforcement: Municipal Enforcement will try to contact owners when possible, and vehicles may be relocated or towed and subject to a $250 ticket.

Homeowners can check the City of Beaumont’s interactive snow and ice map to see which areas are currently being worked on or are next on the list. The map lets residents input an address, view the neighbourhood’s priority level and track snow-clearing progress in near real time so they can plan where to park before crews arrive.

While the city manages the roads, residents are reminded that they are responsible for shovelling the sidewalks next to their homes. Property owners must clear these walkways within 48 hours of a snowfall to help keep the community safe for pedestrians.
