The Beausejour Brokenhead Fire Department is inviting the public to celebrate the completion of its new fire station with a grand opening and open house on April 18, 2026. Residents are welcome to visit the new facility located at 71061 PR302 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm to see the department’s latest upgrades.
The event marks the conclusion of years of planning and construction, which included a renovation project between 2021 and 2022 followed by a fire hall and industrial park project that began in 2023. In addition to the new station, the department will showcase its new 2024 Freightliner M2 106 pumper truck.
Led by Fire Chief Dean Mineault, the Beausejour Brokenhead Fire Department currently serves the town of Beausejour, as well as Garson, Tyndall, and the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead. The department is staffed by 28 volunteer paid on-call firefighters who provide emergency response and fire protection for the region.
The family-friendly grand opening event will feature tours of the new hall and live demonstrations, including vehicle extrication, a live burn display, and activities with a smoke trailer. Attendees can also enjoy hot dogs available by donation, with all proceeds supporting the Robert Rittwage Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund honours the memory of the late Deputy Fire Chief Robert Rittwage, who served the community for 27 years.
The department, which also operates from its existing station at 801 Park Avenue, continues to emphasize community safety through programs coordinated by Fire Prevention Officer Susan Greschuk. Residents are encouraged to attend the open house to meet local firefighters and learn more about fire safety in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead and the surrounding area.
