Team Pearase, representing the Beausejour Curling Club, has earned a spot to compete in the 2026 Manitoba Winter Games powered by Manitoba Hydro in Thompson, Manitoba. The club’s U15 squad secured their place in the provincial multi-sport event after winning the East Regionals on Jan. 4, 2026, in Springfield.
The provincial competition, organized by Sport Manitoba, will bring together young athletes from across the province from March 1 to March 7, 2026. Team Pearase will travel to Northern Manitoba to represent the Eastman region and play against the top youth talent in their age group.
CurlManitoba and Sport Manitoba describe the Manitoba Games as an important development step that gives young athletes experience in a larger multi-sport tournament setting.
The Beausejour community is organizing fundraising efforts to help the squad with travel and equipment costs. Local organizers have proposed a celebration and send-off at the Sun Gro Centre in late February 2026 ahead of the team’s departure to Thompson.
