The Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, Manitoba, has released its 2025 Annual Water Quality Reports this March 2026 to give residents a look at the safety of their local drinking water. These mandatory reports provide the latest results from bacterial, lead, and chemistry testing conducted throughout the previous year.
The municipal water supply is drawn from a well located directly under the Water Treatment Plant at 34046 Mile 73N in Henryville. According to the findings, the system keeps free chlorine levels between 0.55 mg/L and 0.60 mg/L, which the municipality describes as being lower than many other similar water systems.
Under local By-Law No. 2079-08, all residents in the Tyndall-Garson area are required to connect to the municipal water system. This rule was put in place after a boil water advisory was issued for private wells in 2000 due to bacterial contamination.
Because the advisory for private wells remains in effect indefinitely, the municipal system serves as the primary source of treated water for the district. Residents with questions about their water service can contact Tristan Laderoute, the Municipal Waterworks Operator, for more information.
