According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to remain significantly below the typical early April averages of 6°C for a daytime high and -6°C for an overnight low.
The forecast includes a mix of sun and clouds to start, with temperatures cooling throughout the coming days. A 60 percent chance of flurries is expected for both Sunday and Monday nights. While daytime highs will struggle to climb, nighttime temperatures are forecast to drop sharply, reaching a low of -14°C on Sunday night and dipping to -17°C by Monday night.
Although the temperatures are unseasonably cold, there are currently no weather alerts in effect for the Beausejour area. The cold snap aligns with The Weather Network, which predicted that lingering chill would persist across Manitoba through much of April.
As the community navigates this late-season cold, the provincial Hydrologic Forecast Centre reports that the region faces a low risk of significant spring flooding. The Town of Beausejour remains under typical conditions for this time of year, with the cooler weather potentially slowing the expected spring thaw.
