Families in Beausejour, Manitoba, spent Sunday afternoon together during a community event designed to bring neighbours closer. The Family Sunday Funday took place on February 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Beausejour Sportsplex and the Brokenhead River Community Hall.

Organizers from the Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation (BBDC) and the Brokenhead River Recreation Commission (BRRC) set up floor games, craft stations, and organized sports for children and parents. The event provided local families with an affordable way to stay active and meet their neighbours during the cold winter months.

The gathering saw a high turnout, drawing people from the town as well as nearby areas like Tyndall and Garson. Community leaders noted that these smaller events help make the town a more welcoming place for new families who have recently moved to the region from Winnipeg.

Parents at the event shared that having indoor activities close to home is a major benefit during February. The programming is part of a larger effort by local development and recreation partners — led by the Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation in partnership with the Brokenhead River Recreation Commission and supported by the Town of Beausejour and the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead — to provide regular weekend activities throughout the year.
