The Beausejour Sportsplex is inviting the community to get creative on the ice this weekend during its annual Paint the Ice event. Residents are invited to the facility in Beausejour, Manitoba, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm to take part in the seasonal tradition.
The event offers a family-friendly alternative to typical arena activities, allowing participants of all ages to paint directly onto the ice surface. Residents are encouraged to bring their own skates or boots to enjoy the messy, hands-on activity before the ice is removed for the season.
Located at 360 Veterans Lane, the Beausejour Sportsplex is a multi-purpose facility that serves as a regional hub for recreation. The event is one of many initiatives coordinated by the Brokenhead River Recreation Commission, which oversees community programming for the town and the surrounding rural municipality.
The arena typically hosts hockey, ringette, and public skating from September through March, serving as home ice for teams such as the Beausejour Comets and the Eastman Selects. Following the busy winter season, the facility transitions its operations, with office hours running from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
