In Blind River, residents will see changes to their curbside garbage and recycling pickup during the holidays. The Town of Blind River issued a Holiday Waste Collection Schedule (notice posted December 18, 2025) that implements a one-day-forward shift in collection dates, effective December 22, 2025, through January 3, 2026, because Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) fall on Thursdays.
Thursday pickups on December 25 and January 1 will move to Friday (December 26 and January 2), and Friday pickups will move to Saturday (December 27 and January 3). All waste — garbage and recycling — must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the revised collection day.
The municipal landfill (1182 Highway 17) will be open Wednesday through Saturday and closed on statutory holidays, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Residents who miss a curbside pickup may bring waste directly to the landfill during those posted hours.
