The Town of Bracebridge, Ontario, has confirmed the payment dates for 2026 property taxes, with interim bills already sent to local homeowners. Residents must ensure their first payments reach the town by March 31, 2026, as automatic penalties begin the very next day.

According to the Town of Bracebridge, interim bills were mailed out in mid-February 2026. Final tax bills are expected to arrive in mailboxes in mid-July 2026, with a final payment deadline set for August 31, 2026.

The 2026 tax rates include a 4.9 percent increase for town services, which Bracebridge Town Council approved on November 25, 2025. This change means a home with an assessed value of $300,000 will see the town portion of its taxes go up by approximately $82.79 this year.

The District of Muskoka also finalized a 3.85 percent increase for regional services. These adjustments are meant to handle rising costs and the expense of running the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

Town officials remind residents that failing to receive a bill does not excuse them from late-payment charges. Anyone who has not received their interim notice should contact the municipal tax branch immediately to ensure their account stays current.
