The Town of Bracebridge, Ontario, is offering a 10-month payment plan to help residents manage their 2026 property taxes. This option allows homeowners to spread their costs across the year instead of paying in a few large amounts. This change is meant to help with household budgeting and to ensure bills are paid on time.
According to the Town of Bracebridge, tax payments will be automatically withdrawn on the 10th of each month from November through August. This announcement comes as interim tax bills are mailed out in mid-February 2026. These initial bills must be paid in full by March 31.
The new payment plan is designed to help homeowners handle a 4.9 percent tax rate increase that was recently approved. This increase adds approximately $83 to the annual bill for a residential property valued at $300,000. These additional funds are needed to manage rising costs from inflation and to pay for the operations of the new Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
Using the monthly plan helps residents avoid extra costs from missed deadlines. Under the Tax Collection By-Law, a 1.25 percent penalty is added to any unpaid taxes on the first day they are late. Final tax bills for the year will be sent to homeowners in mid-July and are due by August 31, 2026.
