Residents in Bracebridge, Ontario, should prepare for light snow and wind gusts up to 60 kilometres per hour starting tonight, February 27, 2026, which may cause slippery roads and low visibility.
According to Environment Canada, there is a 40 per cent chance of flurries with about two centimetres of snow expected. The wind is predicted to shift from the south to the west after midnight and increase in strength.
These weather conditions may cause travel delays at the Muskoka Airport, where high winds often impact the operation of small planes. Drivers are also encouraged to slow down as blowing snow can make it harder to see.
The Trillium Lakelands District School Board uses a zone system to decide if school buses can run safely during inclement weather. While classes are not in session this weekend, the board typically provides updates for the Muskoka zone by 6:30 a.m. on school days when conditions are poor.
The Town of Bracebridge reminds residents that overnight parking rules are in effect to help with snow removal. Vehicles cannot be parked on the street between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. so that municipal plows can clear the roads effectively.
