The Brandon Area Community Foundation will open applications on February 2, 2026, for a grant program that supports small, practical projects in Brandon, Manitoba. This funding, provided through the Thomas Sill Manitoba Fund, offers qualified grantees (as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency—registered charities, municipalities and other public bodies) up to $5,000 to help with immediate needs that improve the community.

To be eligible for the money, groups must be working on a specific, standalone project such as buying new tools, equipment, or making minor building repairs. According to the official guidelines, applications must include at least one price quote from a supplier or contractor when such a quote is applicable to the project costs.

The application window is short, with the final deadline set for February 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The foundation will make grant decisions by the end of March 2026, and all work must be completed by October 16, 2026.

This grant stream was established to continue the legacy of the Thomas Sill Foundation, which formerly supported projects across the province. By working with Endow Manitoba and other partners that helped coordinate the transfer of Thomas Sill’s assets into community endowments, the foundation helps ensure that these funds benefit the Westman area and local non-profits.

For more than 60 years, the Brandon foundation has helped manage local donations to support the region. This spring funding cycle is specifically for practical needs and is separate from the general community grants that the foundation offers later in the year.
