Starting April 1, 2026, the Western Manitoba Regional Library is reportedly expanding its collection in Brandon, Manitoba, to include household items like energy monitors, specialty cake pans, and projectors. This new service is expected to allow local residents to borrow high-quality tools and equipment for short-term projects instead of buying them.
By offering these items, the library aims to help people save money and reduce the amount of extra stuff kept in their homes. Residents can then use specialized gear for a one-time hobby or a home project without the cost of a full purchase.
The regional library system serves several communities, including Brandon, Carberry, Neepawa, Glenboro, and Hartney. In Brandon, the library operates locations at 710 Rosser Ave and inside the Shoppers Mall to provide easy access for members across the city.
These additions are part of a broader effort by the library to act as a community hub for different needs. According to the list of services provided by the organization, the library also offers digital resources, room rentals, and technology access to the public.
