The Brandon Wheat Kings will host their second home game of the 2026-27 Western Hockey League season on September 25, 2026, when the Regina Pats visit Assiniboine Credit Union Place at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with puck drop at 7:00 PM.
This matchup continues a long-standing rivalry between the two East Division teams. The Wheat Kings opened their 60th WHL season on September 18 against the Saskatoon Blades, while the Pats began their campaign on the road in Prince Albert and will not play their home opener until September 27. Brandon has historically dominated the matchup, posting a 43-17-9-3 record against Regina.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, and all WHL regular-season games are streamed free on YouTube this season for fans who cannot attend in person. Head coach and general manager Marty Murray enters his fifth season leading the Wheat Kings, who are coming off a 40-win season in 2025-26.
The 2026-27 WHL season introduces three rule changes: coaches can now challenge offside goals, referees will conduct video review of major penalties, and the overtime ‘no return’ pilot project continues. These changes add a new layer to an already competitive rivalry.
The Keystone Centre, which opened in 1973, remains a central hub for hockey in the Westman region, hosting the Wheat Kings and other major events throughout the year.
