A 55-year-old Brantford man faces drug trafficking charges after police arrested him in Victoria Park near Market Street on September 1, 2026. Members of the Brantford Police Service Core Engagement and Response Team seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, and hydromorphone pills with an estimated street value of $2,300, along with brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia.
The Brantford Police Service said the accused was held for a bail hearing. He faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Police described the seizure as part of ongoing proactive enforcement in the downtown core, where community members have flagged drug activity as a safety concern.
The investigation was led by the Core Engagement and Response Team, a unit of sworn officers and special constables focused on high-visibility patrols and targeted enforcement in downtown Brantford. The team works with residents and businesses to address ongoing concerns.
