The Brantford Symphony Orchestra will present “Bachamania” on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts in Brantford. The concert, which celebrates the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, is slated to be the final performance of Conductor and Artistic Director Philip Sarabura, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 season after 17 years with the orchestra.
Program highlights will draw on Sarabura’s long association with Baroque repertoire and his background as an organist, with selections chosen to showcase Baroque textures in the Sanderson Centre’s acoustics. “Bachamania” is being promoted as a marquee event in the city’s 2025–2026 cultural calendar; the Sanderson Centre’s season for 2025–2026 also features touring artists such as Jann Arden and Howie Mandel.
Tickets are expected to be available through the Sanderson Centre box office and the BSO’s OnStage Direct portal, with options for single-ticket purchases and season subscriptions; patrons can purchase online or by calling the Sanderson Centre box office when sales open.
Reflecting on his career, Sarabura said he hopes “to leave on the BSO a mark of consistent, professional approach to everything done, be it on stage, in the office, or with donors and supporters.” (Philip Sarabura, Brantford Expositor). He added that performing at the Sanderson Centre “is a win-win for music lovers in the city of Brantford.” (Philip Sarabura, Discover Brantford).
Established in 1919, the Brantford Symphony Orchestra blends professional musicians and community talent and has been a cultural mainstay in the city for more than a century. The BSO board is preparing to begin the search for Sarabura’s successor as it plans for the 2026–2027 season.
